EUGENE (AP) — U.S. Rep. Peter DeFazio, an 11-term Democrat from Springfield, has drawn an opponent for this November’s election.

Jaynee Germond, a Lookingglass resident and member of the Constitution Party of Oregon, said she will run against DeFazio.

Constitution Party members generally believe in minimal levels of the federal government.

Germond, a former Republican, says she switched parties out of disgust for the two-party system.

No Republican has filed to run against DeFazio.
