Internet service will be unavailable at library

Tuesday, July 01, 2008 |
Public Internet service will temporarily be unavailable at Coos Bay Public Library on Wednesday due to installation of new Internet scheduling software. Service will resume on Thursday with a new system for accessing it.
Library Internet users will continue to use the same cards issued to them, but will key in the barcode numbers from the back of the cards rather than placing the cards in readers and using a personal identification number. Those who have never been issued cards can receive them free of charge.
Other changes to the service include the need to sign up for a computer at the scheduling station as walk-up service won’t be available. Print accounting also will be a new feature, whereby Internet users will be able to have computer prints automatically tallied for them in their account for ease in paying the required 20 cents per page.
For more information, call the library at 269-1101, ext. 3.
