Umpqua Bank throws pies for Relay for Life

Monday, June 30, 2008 |
There was a huge gathering of customers and employees to see Umpqua Bank’s North Bend Store Manager Patty Cook get a pie in the face a couple of weeks ago, according to a press release.
The pie-throwing event was held throughout the week of June 9-13, culminating in the grand finale pie in the face on Friday at the end of the work day.
The event raised $125.25 for Relay For Life. During the week, each associate set out a can with their picture on it. Customers donated money to the associate of their choice. Whoever had the most money in their can by Friday would get a pie in the face. Cook won, with $65 in her can alone.
In addition, raffle tickets were sold. The employee whose raffle ticket was picked, Matt Zook, won the privilege of throwing the pie in Cook’s face. She had $65 in her can alone.
