Two individuals and a relay team from the South Coast won events at the Hershey State Track Meet in Eugene.

Matthew Woods of Coos Bay won the 800 meters in the 11-12 age group with a time of 2 minutes, 39.97 seconds. Woods also finished third in the 100.

Claire Ledig of Bandon won the standing long jump in the 13-14 age group with a leap of 7 feet, 81⁄2 inches. Ledig also finished second in the 100 in 12.67, which would have finished second at this year’s Class 3A high school state meet.

Ledig teamed with Peyton Babb of Powers and Lindsey Wright and Ashton Mann of Reedsport to win the 4x100 relay in 53.59.

The Oregon champions will have their marks compared with other winners throughout the region (Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana and Canadian provinces British Columbia and the Yukon Territories) to pick a regional team for the national meet. The regional team will be announced July 7 and the North American finals are Aug. 2 in Hershey, Pa.
