School bookkeeper sentenced

HILLSBORO — A Washington County judge sentenced a former bookkeeper of a Hillsboro charter school to more than three years in prison for stealing from the school.
Michelle Lorraine Wheeler reportedly made 50 direct deposits to her bank account and wrote multiple checks to herself from City View Charter School. Officials say that in total, Wheeler stole about $91,000 from the school.
Wheeler used some of the money she stole to pay restitution for another felony theft conviction — for stealing money from a prior employer.
