Sandblasters fall to Richey’s Market

The Three Rivers Sandblasters lost their third straight American Legion league game on Wednesday, dropping a 16-8 decision to Richey’s Market of Corvallis.
The Sandblasters led 8-4 through four innings, but Richey’s Market struck for eight runs in the fifth and four more in the sixth to secure the win.
Kellen Sparkes, who had four hits, crushed a grand slam home run for Richey’s Market in the fifth inning.
Cole Skriver had a big day at the plate for Three Rivers, going 2-for-4 with a double and scoring three runs. He also had two RBIs.
Scott Buche had a double and two RBIs for the Sandblasters.
Kale Forrester, who held Richey’s Market to four runs over the first four innings, took the loss.
Richey’s Market improved to 5-1 in Zone 3 play, while the Sandblasters fell to 0-3. Three Rivers is home again tonight against the Albany Rockets.
