Looking for a witness to incident
Thursday, June 26, 2008 11:43 AM PDT
There was an incident that happened Friday, June 20, in downtown Coquille. My nephew and his girlfriend walked in downtown Coquille and he was approached by a group of teenagers. One of the boys walked up to him and started pushing him around and giving him a hard time. The boy pushed my nephew in front of a moving car, but luckily he was not hurt. My nephew then walked away from this boy and the boy grabbed him by the back of the shirt. My nephew had his skateboard in his hand and in self-defense used his skateboard to protect himself. The boy put up his arms to protect himself, so he was not hurt.
A car went by and only saw what my nephew did in self-defense and called the cops, and guess who they arrested?
My nephew.
I am hoping that the driver of the car he was pushed in front of will come forward and tell what they saw happen. Justice needs to be served! My nephew should not be in jail for self-defense.
This situation has been on-going for the last couple of years because of an ex-girlfriend of my nephew. Something has to be done. He is sitting behind bars, and these other kids are sitting back laughing about it. I know there has got to be a witness that saw this happen. I am hoping the driver of the car that he was pushed in front of will come forward.
What has happened is not fair and these kids need to pay for their actions.
