Bird causes Gardiner power outage
Wednesday, June 25, 2008 10:44 AM PDT

An enterprising osprey knocked out power to 150 customers in Gardiner on Tuesday when it attempted to build a nest on top of a power pole.

According to a Central Lincoln People’s Utility District spokes-man, about 150 customers lost power at 3 a.m. when a tree branch crossed two hot wires on top of a utility pole.

Power was restored at 6 a.m. The winged culprit was nowhere to be found, the spokesman said.
