Officer struck in stop

HILLSBORO (AP) — Authorities say a Hillsboro police officer doing a traffic stop was hit by a driver who was arrested on charges of driving under the influence and possession of methamphetamine.
Police said officer Anthony Johnson was at the side of his patrol car on Friday when the van came along.
The impact knocked Johnson down. He was treated for scrapes and bruises and released from the hospital.
Washington County authorities say 49-year-old Deborah Hein of Seaside was arrested. She was also accused of assault and reckless endangering.
