Crash stalls traffic
Thursday, June 19, 2008 11:23 AM PDT

A four-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 101 in Reedsport Wednesday sent a driver to Lower Umpqua Hospital.

According to a Reedsport Police Department press log, at 12:43 p.m., officers received a report of a multiple-vehicle collision near the intersection of 101 and 13th Street. They arrived on scene to find four vehicles involved in the crash. Personnel from the Reedsport Fire Department provided traffic control.

Police dispatcher Sean Grubb said the crash did block some of the highway but he didn’t know how many lanes it obstructed.

“For a four-car collision on Highway 101, traffic was moving again within 40 minutes,” Grubb said.

He added that an ambulance transported one driver with minor injuries to the hospital. The drivers’ names, ages, cities of residence and medical conditions were unavailable at press time.
