A Molalla man died Saturday after his motorcycle crashed on U.S. Highway 101 just south of Winchester Bay.

According to an Oregon State Police press release, at 11:57 a.m. Michael R. Addis, 66, was northbound on a 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle when he put on his brakes to avoid hitting another vehicle in the northbound lane. The motorcycle tipped over, ejecting Addis.

He was transported to Lower Umpqua Hospital, then transferred to Legacy Emanuel Hospital in Portland, where he died of his injuries, the release said.

Traffic was limited to one lane for about one and a half hours during the accident investigation. Addis was wearing a helmet.

A Washington man was injured Monday in an all-terrain-vehicle accident in the Bull Run area.

According to the Coos County Sheriff’s log, at 2:04 p.m. emergency personnel responded to a report of a man who injured his hip and back following an ATV accident.

Blake Mowat, 26, of Snohomish, Wash., was taken to Bay Area Hospital where he is in fair condition, a hospital spokeswoman said.

No further information was available by press time.
