North Bend
North Bend Police officers arrested a North Bend woman at a local convenience store Friday, following a report of a hit-and-run accident.
According to a North Bend Police report, at approximately 9:06 p.m., Craig Storm reported that a white Ford van driven by a woman struck a 2006 Ford Taurus. He said the van left the scene at the intersection of Virginia and Harrison Avenues, heading west on Virginia.
Officers then located Heather R. Rogers, 31, at 7-Eleven, 1988 Virginia Ave. They cited and then released Rogers on failure to perform the duties of a driver in a hit-and-run accident.
Coos Bay
Coos Bay Police arrested a Coos Bay resident Sunday following an assault.
According to a Coos Bay Police Department press log, at approximately 2:30 a.m., Coos Bay Police received a 911 call from a 36-year-old Coos Bay woman, reporting that she had been attacked and threatened. The woman, Katara Ford, met with Coos Bay Officers who responded to 1607 S. 17th St. Ford further reported that a vehicle she owned, a 1994 Toyota Corolla had been involved in a crash earlier that morning and was being driven by Bernardo Santiago Vasquez, 26.
Later that morning, at approximately 3:15, Coos Bay Police received numerous citizen complaints of a hazardous vehicle on the road. It was driving with a missing tire, throwing sparks from the wheel. The vehicle reportedly jumped a curb and came to rest at the 1300 block of Oregon Avenue in Coos Bay. Officers located the vehicle and arrested Vasquez at the scene. They took him into custody without incident, transporting him to Coos County jail. He remained in jail this morning charged with domestic menacing, strangulation, driving under the influence of intoxicants and reckless driving. He was being held on an immigration hold.
Coquille
Coquille police arrested a wanted man Friday on numerous charges including those from a warrant.
According to the Coos Bay Police Department press release, at approximately 12:33 a.m., police pulled over a vehicle driven by Larae Withrow.
During the traffic stop, officers arrested passenger Casey Carlson, 20, on a Coquille Police Department warrant charging probation violation on an original charge of possession of a schedule II controlled substance. Police added charges of two counts of possession of a schedule II controlled substance, third-degree escape and attempting to elude on foot. They also cited him with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and failure to wear a seat belt. He remains at the jail on no bail.
Brookings
Curry County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Brookings man Friday.
According to a Curry County arrest log, Michael D. Bliss, 46, was arrested on charges of first-degree theft, first-degree burglary and first-degree criminal mischief. He was taken to the Curry County jail, where he remained this morning on $150,000 bail.
Port Orford Police arrested a Port Orford man Friday, on multiple counts of criminal mistreatment and aggravated theft.
According to a Curry County arrest log, Daryl E. Thomas, 40, on four counts of each. He was taken to the Curry County jail, where he remained this morning on $300,000 bail.
