Coos County
The South Coast Interagency Narcotics Team arrested four Coos Bay residents and a Springfield man Thursday night in a drug bust in Coos Bay.
According to a SCINT press release, at about 11:10 p.m., officers executed a search warrant at 1317 Crocker St.
They arrested Elizabeth B. McDonald, 41; Richard J. Witasek, 44; Shan A. Smith, 49; and Della R. Jackson, 36, all on one count of possession of methamphetamine.
They were taken to Coos County jail, where they were booked and later released.
A fifth suspect, Warren B. Brown, 41, was taken to Bay Area Hospital due to a possible drug overdose. Friday afternoon, at about 5 p.m., he attempted to leave the hospital without the knowledge of the officer assigned to arrest him, said SCINT Director Toby Floyd. Coos Bay Police chased Brown several blocks from the hospital before detaining him, Floyd said. He was arrested on a charge of possession of methamphetamine. He was taken to Coos County jail, where he is being held on three warrants from Lane County.
While at the residence, detectives confiscated about an eighth of an ounce of suspected crystal methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, scales, packaging material and an undisclosed amount of money.
