Political pandering is defying logic

Now that the 2008 Democrat primary has finally been resolved (?) and a candidate has been chosen, I would like to analyze the controversy regarding racism and sexism that has evolved. It seems from watching this primary to the point of nausea and listening to the related rhetoric from both sides, the following appears to be true.
If you’re a white-American and do not vote for Obama because he is black, it is racism. But if you’re a black-American and vote for Obama because he is black, it is not racism. If you’re a male-American and do not vote for Hillary because she is female, it is sexism. But if you’re a female-American and vote for Hillary because she is female, it is not sexism. Confusing huh?
It is good for all of us that an African-American and a woman are competing for the top billing on a presidential ballot for the first time in the history of our great country. But this political pandering about race and gender defies logic, is detrimental to the cause and limits the electability of both candidates in the general election next fall.
I submit that if you are an American and vote for John McCain it is neither racism nor sexism. It is quite simply the right thing to do. McCain has proven to me to be his own man and his presidency would not be the third term of George Bush as has been expressed by the Democrats. For years, their mantra has been to bash Bush for everything possible with little or no substantial gain in their own political contribution and now they want to continue the dogged process into the McCain candidacy. Just what have the Democrats accomplished since taking over the House and Senate after the election of 2006? The answer is: absolutely nothing positive.
I expect that Hillary will not be offered the position as vice president for the Democrats. The huge Clintonesque baggage and hypocrisy that would come along with her would not play well on the ticket in the general election. I’m sure Obama does not want Bubba running around the hallways and offices indiscriminately boinking interns, while secretly having pizzas delivered to the back door of the White House in the middle of the night.
The above is just one’s man’s opinion. No matter your candidate, be sure to vote.
