Gay ’90s Celebration is Saturday

Coquille’s Gay ’90s Celebration and parade is this Saturday. The theme the historical celebration this year is “Raisin’ Fun.”
Organizers have set up an event that will include food booths and vendors, along with activities at the Coquille Community Building. A U.S. Coast Guard crew plans to fly over the city during the parade and there will be live music, too.
Gay ’90s schedule of events:
* 7 a.m. Kiwanis breakfast.
* 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. South Coast Cruisers car show.
* 9 a.m. Rotary River Run/Walk at Sturdivant Park.
* 11 a.m. Parade starts with the U.S. Coast Guard helicopter fly over.
* 2 p.m. 2009 Project Graduation Celebrity Bake Sale and Auction; auctioneer: Wayne Nelson at the Coquille Chamber of Commerce Office.
* 5 p.m. South Coast Cruisers “Car Cruise.”
* 4 p.m. Button drawing for prizes in the large auditorium in the Community Center and beer garden at Ernie’s Barn, with Frosty West’s band Solid Brass,
* also the Class Distinction barber shop quartet will be singing throughout the day.
