Crash sends one to hospital

A Coquille woman was taken to the hospital following a two-vehicle crash Sunday near Coos Bay.
According to an Oregon State Police press release, at about 6 p.m., a 1986 Dodge Aries was southbound on U.S. Highway 101 near milepost 242 when a 1990 Dodge attempted to turn from Shinglehouse Slough Road into the northbound lane. The two vehicles collided.
The driver of the Aries, Rachel Killen, 23, was taken to Bay Area Hospital, where she is in good condition a hospital spokeswoman said this morning.
The driver of the Dodge, Eddy Longenecker, 64, of Coos Bay, was cited with failing to obey a traffic control device.
