South Slough exhibit features Maggie Karl

An exhibit of mixed media art depicting landscapes, still life and abstract subjects will open at the auditorium of South Slough National Estuarine Reserve from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday. Visitors can join Maggie Karl and the Friends of South Slough for a preliminary potluck and grilled tuna prepared by the Tuna Guys. Donations for these fishermen are appreciated. 

After lunch, visitors can venture into the South Slough auditorium and see a collection of pieces created by Maggie Karl, former Coos Art Museum director and 15-year Southwestern Oregon Community College art instructor. Karl will be at South Slough to answer questions and visit with guests from 1 to 3 p.m. at the interpretive center on Seven Devils Road south of Charleston.
