Pizza for a cause
The Marshfield Senior All Night Drug- and Alcohol-Free Party will be given $1 per pizza sold from 4-9 p.m. at Domino’s Pizza on Thursdays, May 22 and June 5. Home delivery is available by calling Domino’s at 269-1000.
Funds raised will be used to help defray costs for providing a fun and safe celebration for graduating MHS seniors. For more information, those interested can call Jennifer Bunnell, Marshfield High School, at 267-1412.
This weekend
Movies at the Egyptian
The Egyptian Theatre offers different movies each weekend.
On the schedule for Friday is “Smokey and the Bandit” (1977). Saturday’s movie will be “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” (1958), and “Gone with the Wind” (1939) will play on Sunday. Friday and Saturday shows start at 7 p.m., and Sunday shows start at 3 p.m.
The box office opens one hour before showtimes. General admission is $4, $3.50 for seniors and those 12 and under, and $3 for members. All admission for benefit shows is $5. For more information, those interested can call 269-8650.
Mustang owners gather
The Mid-Coast Mustang and Ford Club will sponsor an informal gathering for Mustang and custom car owners after the Memorial Day Parade, at noon on Saturday in the parking lot behind Nelson’s Bay Area Mortuary, 405 Elrod Ave., Coos Bay. Cars of all years, 2008 and older, are welcome to the open car gathering and barbecue.

Car show at the shore
Show and Shine at the Shore will be held beginning at noon on Saturday at the parking lot of the Church of the Nazarene, 1600 Chetco Ave., Brookings. There will be a ride at 2. The event is sponsored by the Holy Ghost Riders of Brookings and is a fundraiser for children to go to summer camp.
There will be a barbecue and a free milkshake for those who bring their bike.

Singles hold potluck
The South Coast Singles Annual Memorial Day picnic and potluck will be held at noon on Monday at Bastendorff Park. Coffee, meat and utensils will be furnished by the club. Nonmembers are invited. For more information, those interested can call 267-3443 or 266-1012.
Coming soon
SOLV-ing an ‘invasion’
A series of SOLV workdays are planned in coming weeks. Choose to battle Scotch broom at Pony Slough, remove garbage and build swallow nest boxes at Hallmark Creek or become an ivy-removal pirate at Mingus Park. Tools, gloves, equipment, water and refreshments will be available at each site. This project is designed to improve the water quality and wildlife habitat of these areas. Students can earn volunteer service hours and can request written documentation of the number of hours served.
One of the scheduled events is:
