May 19-26 is Library Celebration Week at the Reedsport Branch Library, 395 Winchester Ave. During the week, the library will be hosting several events including:

* Monday, May 19, from 4 to 6 p.m., Friends of the Library 30th Anniversary Party with a 300 book giveaway. There will be a brief ceremony at 5:30 p.m.

* Wednesday, May 21, from 3:30 to 5 p.m., Kids’ Balloon Party, all ages are welcome.

* Thursday, May 22, from 5 to 6:30 p.m., Renovation Recognition. The Library Advisory Board will honor those who have contributed to the Library Renovation Fund and an unveiling of the book spines will be at 5:30. Appetizers will be served. Individuals and businesses donating a minimum of $100 towards the renovation fund received a plaque looking like a book spine with their name on it.  

* Saturday, May 24, from 1 to 3 p.m., chalk art contest and book sale.

* Monday, May 26, noon, Memorial Day Parade. Participants can join Sue, branch librarian, in the parade dressed as a character from a children’s book
