Part of the tagging problem may very well include associates of this man. I'd like to find out a bit more about his intentions... gangs don't start from nowhere, so it's possible that this man was out on a recruiting trip.

To NOT SAFE: I don't think your politically incorrect! I totally agree with you. I'm not trying to lump a certain ethnicity into one group (I have met some hardworking, kind hispanic people here) but when you read the police reports in The World and 90% of those committing crimes each week are hispanic...constantly getting arrested for meth production and child sex abuse. Something needs to be done. Of course if our police focused on them they would be hit with a lawsuit for targetting a certain ethnicity. (Which I'm sure our local govt would have to pick up the tab for, even though they probably aren't citizens). The laws need to change so that officers can do their jobs without being afraid of getting suspended or sued.

S and T sick and tired wrote on May 21, 2008 5:24 PM:

Oh, is Newmark ave. starting to be a haven for criminals???? Thats nice, right by the college too.
And about the taggers, if and when they are caught, they need to be made to pay for all the paint to repaint over their tags and to do the work themselves. They must have the time to do it, if they have the time to tag in the first place. These vandals cost us all money and need to be delt with harshly. Not slapped on the hand and let out to repeat over and over,

Maybe the CB and NB police should be checking on this dude's associates in the area too.
birds of a feather.........
Good job nabbing him.

Good grief wrote on May 21, 2008 1:11 PM:

Yeah like a gang member hiding out from the police will tag. These taggers are kids in NB/CB who have mommas and poppas who aren't paying attention to darling Johnny and will blame music and video games, while they are sitting in a bar with the other moms and dads ignoring their kids. Then they will try to sue someone.

better fix it soon wrote on May 21, 2008 11:47 AM:

Good job coos bay police.
They probably just helped solve a good part of the tagging problem too.
