Optimists schedule annual golf scramble for June 14

The seventh-annual Bay Area Optimist Mixed Scramble Golf Classic is scheduled for Saturday, June 14, at Bandon Crossings.
The entry fee is $320 per four-person team and includes green fees, a box lunch and golf carts. Individuals can sign up for $90 and will be placed on teams.
Prizes will be awarded to any golfer who makes a hole-in-one on one of the course’s five par-3 holes during the tournament.
The event tees off at 10 a.m.
All proceeds from the tournament will go to support the continuing efforts of the Bay Area Optimist Club in serving youth in the Coos Bay, North Bend and Charleston.

Pate used a 7-iron to ace the 130-yard hole. It was his first hole-in-one in two years of golfing.
