WEST LINN (AP) — A woman threatening to jump off the Oregon City-West Linn Bridge was pulled to safety by a police officer Tuesday afternoon.

The authorities say Officer John Huntsman of the West Linn Police Department gained the despondent woman’s confidence and then grabbed her from the railing when she put her head down for a second.

The 24-year-old Oregon City woman was taken to a Portland hospital for a mental evaluation.
