Splint and Sprint — Today, starting at 10 a.m. at Lower Umpqua Hospital in Reedsport. The 5-kilometer race supports the Lower Umpqua Hospital Foundation and is open to runners and walkers. The entry fee is $13 with a T-shirt and $5 without. A noncompetitive run/walk will be held at the same time. For more information, those interested can call Delaine Humphreys at (541) 271-9700.
Millicoma Marsh Track and Trail Run — Today, starting at 10 a.m. at Millicoma Middle School in Coos Bay. Events include a 5-kilometer run around the marsh trail and 1-mile and 2-mile fun runs/walks on the track. The entry fee is $10 for any area student, $20 for a parent and student to register together or $15 for a community member. All proceeds benefit the school’s LAPS program, designed to promote a healthy, physically active lifestyle for children by running laps on the track before school. Coquille Rotary River Run/Walk — Saturday, June 7, starting at 9 a.m. at Sturdivant Park in Coquille. Events include a 10-kilometer run and a 3-mile run/walk. Pre-registration costs $12 with a T-shirt and $5 without. Race-day registration is $15 with a T-shirt and $6 without and will be held from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. in the park. Entry forms are available at the Coquille Chamber of Commerce and Coquille Century 21.
