The North Bend Garden Club will meet at noon at the North Bend Housing Authority, 1700 Monroe Ave., North Bend. The program will be “Noxious and Other Weeds of Coos County,” by Helen Franklin from the Coos County Weed Control Board.
North Bend Library Director Gary Sharp will present the “How to Research Grants” workshop from 2 to 3 p.m. in the large meeting room at the North Bend Public Library, 1800 Sherman Ave., North Bend. The workshop will introduce first-time grant writers to the steps involved in researching potential funders, mainly through Oregon foundations. There is no admission charge, and pre-registration is not required.

HOT MEALS FOR SENIORS: Bay Area Senior Activity Center offers soups, salads, entrées and desserts at 11:30 a.m. Wednesdays through Fridays. Cost is $3.50 for BASAC members, $4 for non-members. THE NORTH BEND SENIOR CENTER’S luncheon program is available to everyone, not just seniors. Buffet-style meals are served from 11:30 a.m. until everyone is served, Mondays through Fridays. Meals cost $5, and monthly menus are available, at 1470 Airport Lane. Information is available at 756-7622.
