Coos County Highway Department will be limiting the allowed weight for trucks crossing Beaver Creek Bridge on North Bank Lane at mile post 72 near the junction of Highway 42 and North Bank Lane.

Weight limit postings for legal loads are in place to avoid a future restriction due to the bridge’s deteriorated condition. It is scheduled to be replaced in 2012.

The weight limit will be reduced to the following until the bridge is repaired or replaced:

* Any single axle (20,000 pounds)

* Any tandem axle (34,000 pounds)

* Maximum gross weight (80,000 pounds)

Postings also have been revised for the Robison Bridge on Lampa Lane at mile post 7 near the junction of Fishtrap Road and Lampa Lane, based on the deteriorated timber substructure and superstrucure. The weight restrictions will be as follows until the bridge is repaired or replaced in 2012:

* Type 3 trucks — 8 tons

* Type 3S2 trucks — 14 tons

* type 3-3 trucks — 15 tons

For more information, those interested can call Coos County Highway Department at 396-3121, ext. 370.
