Some people believe this to be done by persons of other races. Insane, and closed-minded. This is being done by "wanna-be's". They wanna be someone, cuz their POOR, WHITE, and no one.
Oh! believe it, these are a bunch of little wanna be gang bangers that run around here calling themselves the "Coos Bay Crips". Which in fact are a bunch of white punks between the ages of 13-19 wearing bandannas around their faces and thinking that they are black, or Hispanic. What a shame, It's probably one of your kids or relation Ernie in Empire.

if you care at all go to numbersusa.com and follow immigration legislation

Time is running to get the Respect for the Law Act on the ballot!

immigrationinfo@numbersusa.com

Oregon Initiative 112 has three main components:

1. Requires election officials to obtain satisfactory evidence of U.S. citizenship from any applicant who is registering to vote for the first time in Oregon; and

2. It unties the hands of local police by allowing them to work directly with federal immigration authorities.

3. Requires proof of citizenship or legal status to qualify for an Oregon driver’s license;

This is not racist or discriminitory just common sense. All countries have borders......some even enforce them.

I think it's a good idea to post pictures of the graffiti. Hopefully someone will call in on it. A little
reward would help. Our policemen are
too busy with the drug addicts, domestic
fighting etc. The parents of these kids
should be fined.

Ever heard of neighborhood watch. All the problems we have are our own doing. No one seems to do anything to stop the problems. Not enough police, then do it yourself. I live in Empire and I have taken matters into my own hands on many occasions. You don't want the taggers and wannabe bangers here. Then run them out of town. If we all make a stand and an effort to stop them they will move on. Maybe if people in our community weren't so afraid to do something, the meth problem woundn't be so bad. If we would just stop being so touchy feely and afraid of confrontation. We could make our community a great place for our famlies. If you see them hanging around chase them off. It's not that hard. But our community offers them and the tweekers cheap housing and welfare, so they will keep coming. We need to take a stand and hit the problems head on. I do what I can when I can. Maybe others can do the same. If we would just take a stand as a community. I love my community, Don't you? If you do, then do something!

"gang wannabes,Stockton area hispanic,Antioch area gangs, Gangster Diciples, a black Chicago area gang, little Tijuana, Habitat for Huminity, police reports every week from that area"

Enough already!

This is real simple folks: March down to city hall and demand Eura Washburn step up the patrols and her troops start enforcing the laws that are on the books.
These people have NO civil rights, nor are they in any way productive towards the Bay Area....Think anchor babies, the offspring of illegal aliens, parents living off welfare because of the kids legal status.

Make NO mistake about this: If this is not dealt with quickly, if these people are not rooted out, if law enforcement is not held accountable, the problems will only escalate. Remember what happened parts of California? Riddled with crime, crimes committed by illegals and their illegal offspring.

Enforcing the law has nothing to do with race, but the race baiter's will try and convince people that enforcing the law is racist....don't buy into it!

Kets form a citizens police group wrote on May 17, 2008 6:02 PM:

The garffiti is from two distinct gang wannabes. The 209 No Cal are Stockton area hispanic gangs. The killerfornia gang are Antioch area youth gangs. The GD4 are the Gangster Diciples, a black Chicago area gang. I totally agree with the people who believe that the groups are coming from Empire. The area near Madison and Blanco has become little Tijuana. Several of the homes are new Habitat for Huminity houses with multi families inside. Young people roam from that area most nights. There are police reports every week from that area

Someone wrote on May 11, 2008 1:09 AM:

These incidents are originating from the Empire District. This goes back to around the same time last year when these wannabe gang members had a fist fight at Sunset Middle School when knives were pulled, and began a so called turf war. "Gd4"...not sure about the 4...they tag the "number" like it is a field goal post....and by the way...this is GRAFFITI... let's make this clear...this is NOT inner city "art work"....these are local teenage hoodlums whose parents are living on housing and would much rather have their kids out running the streets, so they can stay at home and get drunk and "enjoy" their high. Now before anyone comments about the people on housing who are really decent people, and I know there are alot of them who do their best to provide and raise their kids....I am NOT trying to profile any particular group( bad apples can fall from good trees too)...but let's be real...these kids are coming predominately from impoverished families with addiction problems.

who wrote on May 11, 2008 1:09 AM:

Now this "turf war" has drawn in another group of this so called "Southern Cal" wannabe gang members who want to claim territory of their own. This is the reason for this recent rash of vandalism that has taken place. I also agree with "holy cow" and "are you kidding me" that we live with a limited police force due to obvious financial strains, and community involvement is what is needed to be able to put some of these troubled teens in juvenile detention or a boot camp program where they belong.

These kids roam at night. ANYONE coming home from work after a swing shift, coming from the store late at night, or just happens to be out and about at a later hour in the evening....if we would all keep an eye out for these kids that we all see roaming aimlessly at night...call the police and tell them you want to report loitering or suspicious activity, so we can get the limited number of our officers on duty to the location and make contact with these kids.

OUR Community wrote on May 11, 2008 1:05 AM:

Only then can they begin to gather information about their activities and put together who they are and who their acquaintances are. Rest assured, that I just haven't been "lucky" enough YET to be in the right place at the right time, because I am fed up with having to explain to my kids what "F........." you can fill in the blanks, and "come and join us" means. Enough is enough!

Anyone notice that "Just an Observer" must not be very "Observant" or he/she would have observed these vandals and done his civic duty and either sat on them until the police arrived, or at least picked up a phone and called them.

Are you kidding me wrote on May 9, 2008 9:48 PM:

In response to "just an observer"...

I assume either one or both of the following apply to you. You are one that, no matter what the topic, the police must be to blame.... and/or to say you are uneducated and have no common sense is the understatement of the year.

If you can form a response and type it before it fades, please explain how 3 police officers in a town of 16,000 are expected to catch this act in progress.

Ponder this thought... if it should be so simple for the police to have prevented this. There are 16000 people in Coos Bay and 3 police when these acts were committed. If the police should have seen at least one of the 13 acts being committed, what is the excuse of the other 16000 people, including yourself, for not catching these subjects in the act? I guess YOU must just be lazy, ignorant, and blind.. just like the police.

reedsgirl wrote on May 9, 2008 9:17 PM:

i agree do not blame the police a majority of these kidses problems these days are no parental supervision or comntroll,, hey parents we are parents there the child.....

Taxpayer wrote on May 9, 2008 6:40 PM:

If we don't have enough police and sheriffs deputys to patrol, businesses are going to have to hire private security to patrol there businesses.
And when and if the graffiti "artists" are found, they should be made to buy the paint and paint over their "art". They have to know there is a punishment of some sort for this rediculous action. And painting over their work is a good start. What idiots ! ! ! !

Holy cow wrote on May 9, 2008 5:22 PM:

Don't blame the police. How can you disregard that it is the parents not controlling the kids. I know all you parents are in denial, then when your kids get caught you blame music, video games, etc. If you see your darling children with spray paint cans--here is a dime to buy a clue.

Hey editors of the World: How's about posting some pictures of the graffiti?

It's not too hard to distinguish or determine where it came from

Just An Observer wrote on May 9, 2008 12:37 PM:

If the cops patrolled and kept a better eye out, these kinds of incidents would be rarer and smaller in scale.
