Obama opens NB office
Saturday, May 10, 2008 8:14 AM PDT
Just days away from the Oregon Primary, supporters of presidential candidate Barack Obama will open a campaign office in North Bend.
According to an Obama Campaign press release, the office will officially open at 1 p.m. today at the Pony Village Mall, 1611 Virginia Ave.
Following the opening, a group of volunteers plans to go out and knock on doors to encourage local voters to mail in ballots in support of Obama in his effort to seek the Democratic nomination. The opening of the North Bend office will bring the total number of Oregon for Obama offices to 20.
“We are excited to open an office in North Bend to give area residents the opportunity to play a personal role in building the Obama campaign and reaching out to their friends, families and neighbors about Senator Obama’s vision for bringing change we can believe in to Washington D.C.,” said Nick Shapiro, the Obama Campaign’s Oregon communications director.
The office will be open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily through May 20. Those who wish to volunteer can contact Tony Nagatani at (541) 285-7856 or e-mail anagatani@barackobama.com, or visit OR.BarackObama.com.
