MarLo Dance recital in Bandon
Saturday, May 10, 2008 6:14 AM PDT
“American Sampler 1708-2008,” a musical dance revue, will take the audience traveling through 300 years of America’s past and present. The dance production will be presented by MarLo Dance Studio’s tap, ballet, hip-hop, jazz, lyrical, creative movement and ballroom departments at 7 tonight; at 2 and 4:30 p.m. on Sunday; and at 7 p.m. on Monday.
All performances will be held at the Sprague Community Theater, 1202 11th St. S.W. in Bandon’s City Park. Admission is $8 for adults and senior citizens and $6 for children 10 and younger.
Due to the popularity of the show, those attending are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance at Hennick’s Home Center. Tickets also will be available at the door and on will-call.
“American Sampler” is a collection of vignettes as varied as the 115 dancers, from preschoolers to senior citizens, who will perform, according to MarLo director Maria Merriam.
Maintaining the studio’s nine-year tradition of presenting “more than a recital,” the professional-level production, the commissioned backdrop and elaborate costuming will lead the audience’s imagination through musical time-travel.
High school seniors Emma Fisher and Mary Lane give their final performances as students. |
