DUNES CITY (AP) — It’s been a season of change at Dunes City.
There was the failed recall of four city councilors last year, the mass resignation of city staff, and the resignation of the previous mayor and planning commission chair.
On top of all that, the city’s long time auditor quit in mid-process. So, nobody could really blame new mayor Eric Hauptmann for wanting to do things a little differently.
The new auditor describes the city’s record keeping and financial status as the worst she’s seen in 30 years. Lists of dozens of violations are contained in her draft report.
