Drivers lined along the street in Bandon decided it was worth the wait to fuel up at the Chevron station. For two days, the station offered gas at nearly a $.40 per gallon discount.
Drivers couldn't get in line fast enough this week at one Bandon gas station. The Chevron station unexpectedly dropped the price of gas by 30 cents on Wednesday.
The unexpected surprise brought a steady line of cars for two days. The price of regular dropped to $3.42 a gallon, compared to the two other stations in town, one of which was selling regular gas at $3.71 and the other at $3.79.
Tony Malear, an employee, said John Truax, owner of the gas station, called and told workers to lower the price. “We didn’t ask any questions,” Malear said. Thursday morning, employees opened the store at 7 a.m. By 7:30, they had run out of regular. The tanker didn’t arrive with a refill until the afternoon. The price went back up Friday morning, with regular reaching $3.71.

Thank you John and your friendly employees. I was in line both days to fill 2 vehicles. I appreciate the the price lowering especially in these times. Maybe others will follow and lower these outrageous prices.
Good for him. it was about time for someone to seak out and go beyond the line. Now mabey others will follow suit. And the government might see they will make more money slling less exspensive gas in higher quantity.
I think its time for another Civil War! This garbage has to stop with the fuel prices out of control like they are. I think that Government and Bid Oil Companies need to beware of the public and just how powerfull they really are because this is the sort of thing that can lead to a Civil War if not a full blown revolution. I am suprised that there have not been more reports of Drive offs from the stations.
Hurray for John Truax and his Chevron Station. His customers won't forget. I will spend an extra 80 cents to save 50 cents just to not SUPPORT gouging inflation. It's obvious from the record breaking Oil Co's Profits.
