The following events are scheduled for this weekend around the area.
Tonight, Sunday
“Captain Blood” (1935), starring Errol Flynn, will play at 7 tonight at the Egyptian Theatre. General admission is $4, $3.50 for seniors and those 12 and under, and $3 for members. On Sunday, the theater will show the cartoon “All Dogs go to Heaven” (1989) at 3 p.m. For more information, those interested can call 269-8650.
Monday
Southcoast Parents and Families of Lesbians and Gays will hold a Gay Bisexual Lesbian Transgender social from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on the first Monday of each month, at a private home in North Bend. VFW Post 7488 invites people who have served in the military and were in a combat area such as World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm, Iraq, Afghanistan or any other conflict, to join the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Post 7488 meets at 7 p.m. on the first Monday of each month at Gussie’s, 1088 Newmark Ave., in Coos Bay. For more information, those interested can call 888-4959.
An Inoka support group is held every Monday from noon to 1:30 p.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 795 Franklin Ave., in Bandon. There is an initial charge of $10 for books and materials. Pinochle players will gather at 1 p.m. Monday and Thursday at the Bay Area Senior Center, on the corner of Fourth Street and Ingersoll Avenue.
Bridge lessons are offered from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. each Monday at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 400 Highland Ave., in Coos Bay.

The Compassionate Friends will hold monthly meetings for parents, grandparents and siblings of families who have lost a child. The meetings will be held the first Monday of the month at 6 p.m. at South Coast Hospice Community Bereavement and Education Center, 1620 Thompson Road in Coos Bay. HOT MEALS FOR SENIORS: Bay Area Senior Activity Center offers soups, salads, entrées and desserts at 11:30 a.m. each day except Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Cost is $3.50 for BASAC members, $4 for non-members. The resale shop is open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. BASAC is located at 886 S. Fourth St., Coos Bay.
