The Coos County League of Women Voters will host a candidate
forum at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, in the council chambers at Coos Bay City Hall, 500 Central Ave.
The event will feature Rick Metsger and Vicki Walker, Democratic candidates for secretary of state; and Coos County commissioner candidates John Griffith and Bob Main.
Those attending will be able to hear the candidates’ views on issues and submit written questions.
There still is time to register for the May 20 election. New voters or those who are changing party affiliation, have until April 29 to do so. Voters who need to update their registration information can do so until 8 p.m. on Election Day.
Ballots were mailed to members of the military on April 4 and to residents living outside the county on April 21. Ballots will be mailed to in-county residents on May 2.
