Coquille firefighters battled a blaze in a woodworking shop for four hours Sunday, stopping the fire before it spread to other buildings.
According to the Coos Bay Police press log, at about 2 p.m., Coquille firefighters responded to report of a structure fire at 54853 Fairview Road. Heavy smoke was coming from the building when firefighters arrived and the interior of the structure was destroyed, Coquille firefighter Brian Conley said this morning. The residential building was unoccupied and fire crews were able to stop the fire before it spread to an attached shed and adjacent building, Conley said.
The Coos County Assessor’s Office lists Gene Weeks as the owner of the building.
No one was injured in the blaze.
