Several candidates to speak in Reedsport
Wednesday, April 23, 2008 10:04 AM PDT
A candidate’s forum will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29, at Pacific Auditorium at the Reedsport Senior/Junior High School, 2260 Longwood Drive.
As voters enter the auditorium, they will be given cards on which to write questions they wish answered by the candidates. The cards will be collected and arranged in an order that provides an opportunity for all the candidates to be heard.
The moderator will introduce the candidates who will each be given three minutes to present statements concerning their candidacy.
The moderator may, from time to time, ask questions of different candidates so no one candidate or set of candidates monopolizes the time.
Questions for the candidates will be held until after all the candidates have made statements.
Candidates being invited include:
* U.S. Representative, 4th District: Peter DeFazio;
* State Senate, District 5: Joanne Verger;
* State Representative, District 9: Arnie Roblan and Al Pearn;
* Douglas County Commissioner, Position 1: Marilyn S. Kittelman, Susan Morgan and Patrick Starnes;
