Coos Bay Police have released a composite sketch of a suspect in an attempted rape that was reported Sunday.
According to a Coos Bay Police press release, the 17-year-old girl who reported the attack worked with police, an Oregon State Police detective and a forensic sketch artist from the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office in completing the sketch.

Rape suspect
Shortly before 1 p.m. on Sunday, the girl was walking down an alley connecting Johnson and Ingersoll avenues between Fifth and Seventh streets, police said, when she was approached by a white man with a leashed dog. The girl said she was attacked and knocked to the ground, but was able to break free and run to safety.
The girl described her attacker as a thin, white adult male, about 6 feet tall, with dirty blond to brown hair and a full beard and mustache. The man was wearing large sunglasses or dark tinted glasses, a green windbreaker-style jacket and blue jeans. The dog was described as a friendly, medium-sized husky or Alaskan sled dog, with white, brown and gray fur.
Coos Bay Police are encouraging anyone who may have information about the man or has seen someone matching the description to call 269-8911 or Coos Stop Crime at (800) 368-6425.
