Portland-based Silverhawk brings “psychedelic Americana rock and roll” to Southwestern Oregon Community College for an all-ages concert at 8 p.m. on Saturday in Prosper Hall, 1988 Newmark Ave., Coos Bay.

The concert is in conjunction with the Spring Preview weekend for potential Southwestern students and will benefit the Oregon Coast Community Action South Coast Food Share.

The band began as a folk duo from Coos Bay, featuring brothers Sam Densmore and John Densmore, who take turns on bass, guitar and vocals. Other band members include Rob Allison, a Coos Bay native, on drums and vocals, as well as Anthony Cotham on keyboards and vocals, and guest vocalist Laura Densmore. Silverhawk is celebrating its third release, “Hangover Bicycle Ride,” on the MastanMusic label.

The price for admission to the event is $5 along with a can of food to be donated to the South Coast Food Share. Southwestern students get in free with a student identification card, and refreshments will be available for purchase at the event.
