Former North Bend standout Keith Shriver won’t speak at the opening ceremonies at Friday’s Coos County Meet.

Shriver, a retired professor from Arizona State University, never committed to speak at the county meet because of conflicts with his busy schedule.

Marshfield officials mistakenly listed Shriver as a speaker for the opening ceremonies in a story in Tuesday’s edition of The World.
