Two athletes from Gymnastics Plus have qualified for the regional tournament next weekend in Spokane, Wash.
Torie Dellinger will compete as a Level 10 gymnast and Shaelee Ipparaguirre will compete as a Level 8 athlete.
Both qualified with their finishes at the state meet last weekend in Medford.
Dellinger is the first Gymnastics Plus athlete ever to qualify for regionals in Level 10.
Ipparaguirre placed 10th in the all-around for Level 8 with a score just over 36.
Dellinger was sixth in the all-around, with a score of 35.
Other Gymnastics Plus athletes to compete at the state tournament were Sammie Clark in Level 9; and Marena Karlin, Braeden Kennedy and Taylor Mauer in Level 7. Kennedy was sixth all-around, Karlin was third on beam, and Mauer was fourth on bars.
Kelsey Ereth and Kara Woods also qualified, but were not able to participate.
Salmon Creek RunBandon High School student Brandon Lemerande won the annual Salmon Creek run at Powers last weekend.
Lemerande finished first in the 10-kilometer race in a time of 44 minutes and 36 seconds.
John Gunther of Coquille was second (45:42), followed by Doug Veysey of Myrtle Point (46:20).
Penny Anderson of Lebanon finished first in the 5-kilometer race in 30:22, followed by Rick and Roberta Angelozzi of Coquille (33:54).
The weather for the South Coast Running Club event was cool and cloudy, good running conditions.
Race director Joe Hallett extended thanks to Pete Dawson, Lindy Stallard and Jill Moore for logistical support, the Powers Cub Scouts for the on-course water station, and Plum Creek Timberlands for use of the road.
South Coast Babe Ruth registrations continueSouth Coast Babe Ruth will hold registration for 13- to 15-year-old boys or girls desiring to play baseball this season at the following places and dates:
Saturday April 12 and Sunday April 13 at the Pony Village Mall from 2 to 4 p.m. each day.
Saturday April 19 at Clyde Allen Ballpark during the North Bend High School JVII double header, from 12 p.m. until the completion of both games.
Sunday April 20 at the Pony Village Mall for 1 to 3 p.m.

Boys &Girls Club sports registrationAll boys and girls in kindergarten are eligible to register for T-ball at the Boys & Girls Club of Southwestern Oregon.
This is a coed program designed to teach the fundamentals of baseball. Teams will be formed and games will be played beginning in May.
All boys and girls in first and second grades are eligible for the coach-pitch program. Any boys who register will participate in coach-pitch baseball.
All girls who register will participate in a new program — coach-pitch softball. All third-through eighth-grade girls can register for fast-pitch softball. Teams will be formed for under-10, under-12 and under-14 players. A participant’s age is determined as of Dec. 31, 2007. Games for this program will begin in May.
The fee for each of these programs is $45 with a current club membership.

Coaches meeting There will be a coach’s meeting on Wednesday, April 16, at 6:30 p.m. for all Boys & Girls Club volunteer T-ball, coach-pitch and softball coaches. Anyone planning to assist with one of these programs by coaching should plan to attend. Equipment will be available and rules will be covered.
