Earthquakes rattled the Pacific Ocean’s Ring of Fire this weekend.

One quake was off the coast of Oregon, due west of Coos Bay. The 5.6 magnitude quake occurred at 5:05 a.m. Saturday about 160 miles offshore, according to an alert from the National Earthquake Information Center.

The West Coast and Alaska Tsunami Warning Center issued a notice that a tsunami was not expected.

At 5:42 a.m. Sunday, the center said, a 5.2 magnitude quake struck 220 miles northwest of Nome, Alaska. No tsunami was generated by that quake, either.

Joel 2:1-11 .... The EARTH SHALL QUAKE before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining: And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?

To SEY GLASS...
If there is an Earthquake @ 9.0 every building and every bridge will fall.. and who ever survives will have if lucky 30 minutes to get as fast east as they can..... and I mean EAST.

Is the big quake coming? There have been studies regarding the occasional 9.+ quakes along the Pacific subduction zone. Are these quakes a build-up to that or are the subduction zones still rebounding from the massive quake mentioned by Raven? The planet took a beating with that quake and it takes years for the shock waves to subside...

Just type in any search engine "Oregon Earthquakes" and you'll be able to read up on the "600 earthquakes in 10 days"

where can i find more info on the recent swarm of coastal oregon earthquakes? 600 within 10 days?

Raven wrote on Apr 13, 2008 4:03 PM:

Scientists are sending a research vessel to the area to investigate recent earthquake swarms which match those of a pending volcanic eruption in the area, There are no volcanoes there, so a violent eruption could be catastrophic to the west coast.

Also all around the Pacific "ring of fire"
earquake activity has increased since the Dec 26, 2004 9+ magnitude quake that hit Indonesia.

John Holeman wrote on Apr 13, 2008 2:51 PM:

Two years ago there were no 5+ quakes in those areas at all.... There hasn't been any increase in seismic activity in the past two years, now, has there?
