Five-week-old Hayden Thompson of Bandon was born on Feb. 29, meaning he's a Leap Year baby.
His actual birthday will show up on the calendar only once every four years.
Asked when they’ll celebrate Hayden’s birthday, Hayden’s mother, Paula Thompson said, “We’ll just always have Feb. 29, and then go straight to March 2.”
Hayden’s father, Jacob Thompson, was born and raised in this area. He and his family relocated to Bandon from the Vancouver, Wash., area about 18 months ago.
