The following events are scheduled Sunday in Coos County.

A boat show will be held at Pony Village Mall all day. The yacht club, North Bend Fire and Rescue and Y Marina will have boats exhibited.

The Friends of the Coos Bay Public Library, 525 Anderson Ave., will hold a book sale from noon to 4 p.m. Book sale proceeds fund special programs for children and adults.

The Bandon Historical Society Museum will hold an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. and introduce a new exhibit on dairy farming, cheese making and the history of Bandon Cheese. The museum is located at 270 Fillmore St. and U.S. Highway 101. For more information, those interested can call 347-2164.

An artist’s reception from 1 to 3 p.m. at Evergreen Court, 451 O’Connell, in North Bend, will feature Carol Turner’s oil painting exhibit “Our Beautiful Northwest.” Refreshments will be served, and pianist Franklin Turner will provide music.

The Coos County Roller Girls will hold a derby day at 1 p.m., featuring an afternoon of scrimmaging and demos at the Sunset Middle School Hockey Rink, 245 S. Cammann St. in Empire. The recruitment event will include a 30-minute scrimmage with mixed teams of Coos County and Emerald City roller girls, a slow-motion demonstration to explain derby and show how it’s played; and full-contact roller girl musical chairs.

The Egyptian Theatre will feature “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” (1953), starring Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russel, at 3 p.m. The box office opens one hour before showtime. General admission is $4, $3.50 for seniors and those 12 and under, and $3 for members.
