The film chronicles the last few months of Ceausescu’s dictatorship in 1989, as seen through the lives of one family and their neighbors in a poor neighborhood on the rural edges of Bucharest. Eva, a spunky 17-year-old girl on the cusp of adulthood, lives with her parents and her unruly little brother, 7 year-old Lalalilu. One day at school, Eva and her boyfriend accidentally break a bust of Ceausescu. Eva is expelled and transferred to a reformatory establishment. There she meets Andrei and decides to escape Romania with him. Convinced that Ceausescu is the reason for Eva’s decision to leave, Lalalilu conspires with his two best friends to assassinate the notoriously brutal Ceausescu.

Many of these films are not rated and parental discretion is advised. For more information, those interested can call 269-1101.
