The Coos Bay Speedway will be holding the first motocross practice of the year from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 6.
This marks the second season for the motocross track, which is set on the infield of a large dirt oval track. The course is supercross-style, with jumps, rhythm sections, whoops and large jumps. While the course maintains a supercross feel, it also has many apects of a rough, outdoor track with sand sections, fast whoop sections, ruts and a few sweeping turns. While the track is fairly narrow in some spots, it is remniscent of the Daytona Supercross with its outdoors feel and variety of terrain.
All ages and abilities are welcome with split practice sessions for slower and faster riders and mini bikes. Protective gear is required for all riders. The cost is $20 for particpants. Spectators get in free.
This will be the first of three practices before the speedway holds its first motocross race on June 8.
That same weekend, drag racers will get their first opportunity of the year on the 1/8 mile drag strip with a test and tune on April 5 and 6. This will be the only practice testing opportunity before the Et Drags on April 19 and 20.
