Feinstein grant

The Ecumenical Emergency Food Cupboard is always glad to accept donations, but through the end of April, it will be especially grateful.

That’s because for every food contribution or dollar given through April 30, the local group will receive additional funding from a grant program offered through the Feinstein Foundation of Rhode Island. While not a dollar-for-dollar program, the more the group raises on its own, the more it receives from back east.

The food cupboard has applied for grant funding from the Feinstein Foundation in past years, generally receiving between $300 and $400 a year.

For those interested, food donations can be taken to Emmanuel Episcopal Church, on Market Avenue, in Coos Bay between 10 a.m. and noon on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Checks can be mailed to P.O. Box 1028, Coos Bay, OR 97420.
