Prep Recap for March 26: Tigers earn split with Warriors

Bandon got a brilliant pitching performance by the duo of Michael Bennett and Archie Garrett to beat North Douglas 4-1 in the opener of a nonleague baseball doubleheader Tuesday. The Visiting Warriors won the nightcap 10-8.
In the first game, Bennett and Garrett combined on a two-hitter with two walks and 10 strikeouts.
North Douglas scored in the first inning, but was shut down by the Tigers over the final six.
Max DeVillers had a triple for Bandon.
In the nightcap, the Bandon pitchers struggled with their control, allowing just five hits, but also walking 11 batters and hitting four in the loss.
The Warriors built a 10-4 lead in the fifth inning before Bandon cut into the gap with three runs in the fifth and one in the sixth. The Tigers also had just five hits in the game.
Civil War postponed
Rain washed out today’s scheduled Civil War baseball matchup between Marshfield and North Bend.
The teams have rescheduled the contest for 4:30 p.m. on Thursday at Clyde Allen Field in North Bend.
