Silverhawk to be on stage

The Indie band Silverhawk will kick of its Northwest tour for a new CD, “Hangover Bicycle Ride” in Coos Bay this weekend.
The group will perform at 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday at Wanda’s, 740 Koos Bay Blvd. The group also will perform a benefit concert for the Coos County Animal Shelter at 4 p.m. Sunday at Broadway Rock Hall across from the Egyptian Theatre in downtown Coos Bay.
Described in a press release as “psychedelic/americana/rock ’n’ roll family circus,” the band is led by brothers Sam and John Densmore, who began their music careers in Coos Bay 16 years ago. The band is now with Portland-based MastanMusic Label. Sam is the manager and producer for the band, as well as doing vocals and playing guitar, baritone guitar, bass, drums and keyboards. John does vocals, and plays the bass and guitar. Other band members include Rob Allison, who plays drums and does vocals, and Anthony Cotham, who plays the keyboard and does vocals.
