The following events and activities are scheduled Friday.

The Bay Area Chamber of Commerce Forestry and Fisheries Committee and the Douglas Timber Operators hold a breakfast meeting at 7 a.m. at the Red Lion Inn in Coos Bay. Attendees are asked to make a reservation. For more information or to reserve a seat, those interested can call the Bay Area Chamber office at 269-0215.



A two-part e-mail class on how to sign up and use free e-mail will be held from 9:15 to 11 a.m. this Friday and next at the Coos Bay Public Library, 525 Anderson Ave. Students should meet at the staff door at 9:15. Pre-registration is required. For more information, those interested can call Delores at 269-1101, ext. 222.

The Good Friday Community Church Service will be held at noon at the Reedsport Church of God, 2191 Birch Ave. The service will involve members from many churches and last an hour.  

The North Bend Senior Center will hold a board meeting at 1 p.m. at the Senior Center, 1470 Airport Lane.

The Coos Stamp Club will meet at 2 p.m. in the Cedar Room at the Coos Bay Public Library, 525 Anderson Ave. The club circuit will be available to members. A stamp auction also will be held.

Unity of Bandon will begin Easter activities with a “Seven Words” meditation service at 6 p.m. at the church one mile south of 11th Street on U.S. Highway 101.  



A Stable and Free Eternally meeting will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the North Bend Church of God, 1067 Newmark St. The meeting is open to people experiencing any type of addictive behavior. For more information, those interested can call 756-6289 or 888-0401.

The historic Egyptian Theatre in downtown Coos Bay will show “Grand Canyon” (1991). It features veteran actors Danny Glover, Steve Martin, Alfre Woodard and others. The show starts at 7 p.m. General admission is $4, $3.50 for seniors and those 12 and under, and $3 for members.

Christ Lutheran Church, 1835 N. 15th St., Coos Bay, will host an annual Good Friday service at 7 p.m., and the sermon will be: “Deliver Us From Evil.”



Sunset Classic Chevy Club will meet at 7 p.m. at Fisherman’s Grotto, 91151 Cape Arago Highway, in Charleston. For more information, those interested can call Jan at 756-3295 (evenings) or 266-9115 (days), or Don at 267-0392.
