Good cooks

Cuisine wants to feature the good cooks who live, work and create, in our area, and we need your help. Tell us about a good cook you know. Who can bake, saute or simmer up a wonderful meal? You can nominate a good cook by sending an e-mail to food@theworldlink.com. Include your name, the cook’s name and a little about the cook, and be sure to inlcude a phone number so we can get in touch with you.

Upcoming events

Let Cuisine know about your upcoming food-related events. Send e-mails with the name, date, time, location and cost to food@theworldlink.com. We go to print on Mondays, so try to get us your information at least two weeks ahead of your event.

Help with the Easter feast

The Oregon Coast Culinary Institute wants to help with your Easter dinner — and get a little practice at the same time. OCCI is offering a boned, rolled and tied leg of lamb marinated with rosemary and garlic for $25. Cooking instructions will be included.

Orders will be taken from March 10-13 by calling 888-1546.

Pickup will be on March 20 from 2 to 5 p.m.

OCCI Executive Director Shawn Hanlin said that the lamb is being offered at cost to give his students the opportunity to learn a skill which he calls “a lost art.”
