The Oregon Coast Chamber Orchestra returns to Reedsport for its Winter 2008 concert at 2 p.m. on Sunday at the Pacific Auditorium at Reedsport High School.

The “Orchestra’s Choice” program will mark the second local appearance for the orchestra. Half-price tickets ($5) are on sale at the Reedsport branch of Umpqua Bank and at the Reedsport-Winchester Bay Chamber of Commerce. The price of admission will be $10 at the auditorium box office on Sunday.

This is only the second Reedsport appearance of the 40-member group. Cosponsored by the Coastal Douglas Arts and Business Alliance, the concert will feature works by well-known composers including Beethoven, Debussy, Granados, Grieg, Holst and Johann Strauss Jr. Featured soloists include French hornists Wilke Renwick and John Dodge, as well as tubist Dan McGraw.

The concert opens with the “Emperor Waltz” by Johann Strauss, Jr., and closes with Schubert’s “Overture in the Italian Style.”
