In honor of police Chief Eura M. Washburn's retirement, she will be honored in a ceremony during the Coos Bay City Council meeting, followed by an informal gathering at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4, in the council chambers of city hall, 500 Central Ave.
"Chief Washburn has served our community and its citizens for more than 32 years. This includes her leadership as chief of police of the City of Coos Bay Police Department since 2003. Through the years, Chief Washburn has also given her personal time through her heartfelt involvement and participation on numerous boards and committees throughout our community and state," a press release said.
"She has given far more to this coastal community than we could ever express and we hope everyone can join in hailing her successes and celebrating her accomplishment," the city said.
